Historically, ginger has also been used for digestive complaints and nausea. Those traditional uses are part of the story, but they should not be treated as a substitute for medical advice.

Ginger is a tropical to subtropical plant and prefers warmth, moisture and a long growing season. In cooler districts it benefits from a protected position or container culture where the rhizomes can stay warm.
