Black Mint — best bug spray ever

18 September 2016

Black mint attracted plenty of questions at the markets: how to grow it, how to contain its vigorous growth and how its strongly scented leaves could be used around the garden.

Black mint was valued for its strong aromatic foliage. Like other mints it prefers regular moisture and can spread aggressively, so growing it in a container or a defined bed makes it easier to manage.

After our appearances at Eastland and Coburg farmers' markets, customers were particularly interested in using Black Mint in a homemade garden spray.

A farmers' market favourite from the KVA herb range.
