Cottage Flower Combo

29 November 2016

Besides colour, flowers can bring pollinators and other beneficial insects into the food garden, making them useful companions around vegetable beds and productive spaces.

Cottage planting works best when plants overlap in flowering time, height and texture rather than sitting as isolated specimens. Herbs, flowering perennials and self-seeding annuals can all be mixed together.

The November 2016 archive promoted a cottage flower combination used at Emuvale, including plants such as catmint and evening primrose.
